Rich Bitch: Lavinia Herbert, who was the richest girl in school before Sara turned up, and sees the younger girl as a threat to her social standing. This handsome Word Cloud edition of the classic children’s novel includes black-and-white illustrations by Ethel Franklin Betts and a heat-burnished cover with foil stamping, making it a wonderful addition to the bookshelf. She loves her dear father so much, but he has to go to India and leaves Sara in a boarding school for young girls.

This catalogue record does not identify the illustrator but links a page-by-page "electronic copy from HathiTrust" with unnumbered page 7, "List of Illustrations", subheading "From drawings by Reginald B. Gave Up Too Soon: Had Miss Minchin not given up on the hopes the late Ralph Crewe's investment would generate profits, she wouldn't have mistreated his daughter to the point the girl would gladly leave her boarding school as soon as she had a place to go. The Princess Trilogy" was an updated version of the classic, with the title character named Molly, rather than Sara.Too Hungry to Be Polite: The street girl Sara gives five of her penny buns to tears ravenously into them, exclaiming only, "Oh my! A collection that will be coveted by children and adults alike, this list is the best in children’s literature, curated by Virago. Because the Indian climate is considered too harsh for their children, British families living there traditionally send their children to boarding school back home in England.

It's about a little girl who goes to stay at a boarding school but life for her gets harder after she loses her princess status. Even Evil Has Loved Ones: After her sister Amelia leaves after her "The Reason You Suck" Speech, Miss Minchin is briefly seen holding back tears. Abused by Miss Minchin, the spiteful headmistress who treats her like a slave, Sara finds protection in her imagination and sisterly love in her friend Becky. The 1985 TV series by Nippon Animation has a similar title in Japanese, although the two adaptations are not related.

Hess Oster's adaptation for youth performers (StagePlays, 2013) has been performed by STARS Drama (2013), Actor's Youth Theatre (2013), Bordentown Theatre (2014), Fruits of the Spirit Academy (2015), Mosaic Children's Theatre (2015), and Shine Performing Arts (2017). This centres on Lottie, the smallest girl in the original story, who is now 10 and learning about the Suffragettes. When the Maid volunteers to do these things with the Little Princess, it looks like her problems are over. It would be easy to be a princess if I were dressed in cloth of gold, but it is a great deal more of a triumph to be one all the time when no one knows it.Life there was harsh and they were quite poor but the young Frances would entertain herself and her siblings with stories. Extreme Doormat: Miss Minchin's sister is far kinder but is completely dominated by her until the end of the story when she finally speaks her mind.
