Opening with refreshing top notes of bergamot, green mandarin, and basil, this fragrance immediately captivates the senses, offering a burst of energy and invigoration. This is a great lemon cologne it goes to show Armani has been about the fresh accords since day one. The beginning is fresh, slightly green citrus, perhaps more aromatic, then an explosion of notes that characterize vintage, deep, emotionally charged perfumes. I love Eau Sauvage, but sometimes it feels a bit serious; this seemed just as brilliantly fresh and herbal, but a bit more uplifting (in a laid back kind of way) in the opening, which is really saying something.

You can smell both in it and if you try not to smell either (sorta like sniff squinting your nose) you get a new type of fragrance that is manly and soft. However, what makes it truly outstanding is that you could wear your favorite, comfortable pair of jean There's not a lot more that can be said about such a controlled exercise in chypre craft, outside the fact that it avoids being a total oakmoss bomb due to it's "eau" lightness in the sillage department. Not knowing anything about fragrances I assumed it would always be available for me to purchase, only to find out years later the original formula would change. Dry cedar and grassy vetiver accompany the telltale oakmoss bite of Armani Eau Pour Homme's finish, while sandalwood and patchouli act in the base much like the herbs and neroli do in the heart, smoothing out the rough edges. It is important to note that the longevity factor alone should not be the sole determinant in choosing a perfume. I have no idea where this came from because I’ve never seen it before and somewhere between two moves after college it just sort of showed up. You can forget about getting anywhere close to this level with cheapies such as Victor or Aqua di Selva. You won’t really notice any difference between a product purchased from Perfume’s Club and a product purchased from a seller in our new Marketplace. The final effect of the dry down is one that glows to a lesser extent as Eau Sauvage, but with herbs, oakmoss, and aromatic spice doing all the talking in place of any proper florals once the citrus and lavender burn off in the first few hours.

Bokaba may be right about it being a less-sweet Monsieur de Givenchy, and I'd also say it's a tad more floral.I read from the Now Smell This bloggers that there's hardly any difference between the old and the new. I’ve been looking for a replacement signature nothing comes even close, no TF no Creed can scale these highs. Now that I’m older and know more about the things I am smelling (at least I like telling myself this) I can appreciate it for what it is and not just, “this smelled like my father”. It's still a light fragrance but the magic for me is back as the previous formulation just seemed to be way off and too short lasting.

Just as the Ralph Lauren scent completely synced with that brand's image, Armani Eau Pour Homme perfectly represents the pared down luxury that Armani is known for.At the heart there are elegant jasmine and lavender, accompanied by spices: nut, coriander, cinnamon and clove.
