Yet despite Mo Ran’s shameless pursuit of his own goals, he begins to question his previously held beliefs, and wonders if there could be more to his teacher-and his own feelings-than he ever realised. I can't help but think that this novel was written to satisfy those who like dog-blood drama and those who fantasize about or romanticize r*apist/victim relationship. On the other hand, the themes in this book are ranging from morally questionable to downright disturbing. Thus, after much consideration, the once cruel ruler of the cultivation world, the Despot of Sichuan, Emperor of the Mortal Realm, and Lord of Sisheng Peak, Taxian-jun, Mo Ran himself, expressed his honest thoughts: "Fuck.

Tall, beautiful, he has domineering aura, he looks like an unapproachable iceberg, but behind that facade is a person uncertain of himself. I can't explain the level of discomfort I felt going into this novel with all these positive reviews and then feeling that have we fallen to the point that *this* novel has a rating of 9. Anyway fact is throughout the entire first volume which is like 500 pages, Mo Ran doesn't change one bit. If you had told me I was going to love a romance with more TW than items on a ten-member family grocery list, I would have laughed. And after the secrets are revealed and things come to light that stayed hidden from him in the past life, he redeems himself, learns to love and forgive and cherish, and when Chu Wanning tells him that Hell is too cold and he is accompanying Mo Ran, Mo Ran's response was one that had me in tears. It may have been a stronger piece if the author had dialed down the size of things and maybe focused a little more just on the main two character’s developing relationship. There's so many different types from the cold sect masters to the demonic overlords (in these types of stories alone). I picked up on them since I've read so many novels on here thinking "Oh that random bit of information seems odd, might be important later". By the end I was getting frustrated and cursing every new twist) As such, the thematic resonance tends to fall apart a little bit, and all in all the scope of the story may have been a little too ambitious.

You know there must be a terrible misunderstanding for them to have ended that way, for Chu Wanning to let Shi Mei die instead of helping him, breaking Mo Ran’s heart.Yes, I'm the type to wake up in the middle of the night and go "So that's what Chu Wanning meant when he said that! After thinking about this disparity, I realized why others like this novel so much: 1) the MC is the gong, and 2) the author has amazing writing skills (reason I gave this novel two stars except for one). Also known as 2ha, the wildly popular danmei/Boys’ Love novel series from China that inspired a multimedia franchise!

Unlike the usual rebirth story, MC was a scum until death in his previous life and he continued to be somewhat scum in his second life until falling in love with ML and realising the wrong in his ways.

this is a fantastic novel and one of my favorites by far, but i feel like the beautiful cover and the cute title can be misleading for new readers, so i would like to warn everyone about its contents.
