Description

Fresh juniper balanced with sweet orange and lemon, hints of coriander, gentle herbs and spices, with a luxurious, creamy mouth-feel and a subtle hint of sweet malt.

Lemon and rowan berry linger, but are rounded with the sweetness of rosehip and a gentle ginger spice.Comments: Check out our review of the Ledaig 18’s younger sibling, the Ledaig 10 from almost exactly 6 years ago. The nose is of honey, mineraly smoke, and chocolatey aroma with notes of orange oil and tropical fruit. The award-winning whisky underwent an initial 16-year maturation in ex-bourbon casks, followed by an additional 2 years of finishing in premium sherry casks, imparting delightful sweet and fruity characteristics to the spirit.

The distillery has four wash stills and four spirit stills, with production capable of a million liters of spirit a year after an upgrade in 1990.By using the Service, and by creating an account you represent, warrant and confirm that you are of legal age. I think this Ledaig offers fantastic value for money for an 18-year-old, and always offers consistency across the range.

The driver will input your year of birth into their device and may then require an ID check to complete the age verification process.Like all the whiskies produced at Tobermory Distillery, this is non-chillfiltered and natural colour. If you're a spirits enthusiast or just someone who appreciates a good cocktail, there's no reason not to sign up to see how Spirits Network can help you drink better. Tobermory distillery is located on the Isle of Mull, off the west coast of mainland Scotland, the second largest of a group of islands that make up the Inner HebridesThe distillery produces 3 spirits, unpeated Tobermory Whisky, peated and smoky Ledaig and Botanical gins. With a focus on craftsmanship and attention to detail, Tobermory whiskies showcase a balance of fruity and malty notes, subtle hints of coastal saltiness, and a touch of peat smoke.

Tobermory Distillery, situated on the picturesque Isle of Mull in Scotland, is renowned for its ability to capture the essence of the island in its distinctive single malt Scotch whisky. The distillery which was formerly known as Ledaig, was founded in 1798 and has changed hands several times, having undergone a number of periods of closure. The result is a range of whiskies that truly embodies the spirit of the Isle of Mull, delighting whisky enthusiasts with their unique charm and authentic island character. Nose: Rich, fruity sherried smokiness, lovely balance of phenols, seaweed and light creosote, dried chilli flakes, spicy black pepper with hints of sweet oakiness. The award is the latest addition to Ledaig 18-Year-Old’s trophy cabinet, having previously won gold awards at the 2022 and 2021 World Whisky Awards, being named the Best Scotch Islands Single Malt.My recent review on the Cadenhead’s Tomatin 12 really blew the doors off in realising how magical that independent bottler is. Nose - Rich, fruity sherried smokiness, lovely balance of phenols, seaweed and light creosote, dried chilli flakes, spicy black pepper with hints of sweet oakiness. When it reopened in 1878, the Ledaig deeds and ownership were passed from pillar to post before closing for a second time in 1930, as there was a drop in the demand for whisky due to prohibition in the United States.
