Lovely Girls meanders through real women’s stories using The Hiccup Project’s potent blend of dance, theatre and comedy. Colette “Coco” Weber has relocated to her Catalina Island home, where, twenty years before, she was the sole survivor of a deadly home invasion. Mom gets taken in by the resident mom squad, but their mean girl daughters don’t do the same for the new girl.

Every parent’s nightmare…Hunt takes mean girls to a whole new level in her new novel, Lovely Girls . A tasty, if not always tasteful, tale of supernatural mayhem that fans of King and Crichton alike will enjoy.

Its story follows New York jazz pianist Willie Conway, as he heads back to his hometown of Knight's Ridge, Massachusetts for his high school reunion, where he finds his friends evaluating their lives and relationships. Alex had been a strong and quite good tennis player at her school in Buffalo so she tried out for the team at Shoreham High School. While Kate’s new life includes a love interest, it’s not a very interesting one or particularly well handled.

GIRLS takes everything to the extreme to the point that you are very afraid of everything and about what will happen to Kate and Alex. It’s theatre made by middle-class white women so naturally me and my middle-class white friends from girls school (I know) loved it because it spoke directly to the everyday sexism we’ve experienced. It gives you a plate of armour, an undeniable good feeling in your bones that makes you want to dance wildly, too. It serves as yet another cautionary tale about the cruel side of Social Media, and how you can’t run from what has already been posted.

However, once I got to a certain point in the plot where some hidden discoveries were revealed, I found that I could not turn the pages fast enough. After the sudden death of her husband, Kate Turner is looking for a fresh start for herself and her teenage daughter, Alex. Willie chastises Paul about his obsession with supermodels; he responds that beautiful girls represent hope and promise. Margot Hunt proved to be a masterful storyteller, in my opinion, as she relied on her ability to create a plot that was part mystery, part thriller and involved a murder. Certainly not when the mean girls at Alex’s new school dig up the reason for their move and begin to taunt her with memories she would like to forget.

As little women, and through their teen years, they were fed fairy tales, stories and images full of the idealized woman; beautiful, sweet, passive, lovely. Every chapter ended with a cliffhanger to make me want to continue reading to find out what was going to happen next. Even though I don't enjoy books about "mean girls with mean moms" and/or bullying, I selected this book because I am a HUGE Margot Hunt fan.Not all the characters (even the men) were unlikeable and I appreciate the author giving us some balance. After a year in captivity, a kidnapped child escapes―only to reveal horrific truths that lead her psychologist on a race against time in this thriller from New York Times bestselling author Mike Omer. The site's consensus reads: "A warm, thoughtful dramedy about male insecurity, Beautiful Girls is buoyed by an excellent cast - particularly Natalie Portman in a stunning early role". A teenage girl navigating the high school food chain finds herself at the center of a mystery as either a victim or a potential perp. These adorable mini polishes are made with the best product quality and skin compatibility - perfect for the young trend-setter.
