Description

Nowadays, more and more DJs are using VirtualDJ Pro Full to be able to use digital music instead of traditional vinyls or CDs. Still, using digital music doesn't mean you'll have to sit behind a computer and use a mouse and keyboard. The DDJ-REV1 may sit on the more affordable scale of Pioneer DJ Controllers, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s not full of premium features. Boasting the same sized jogs as the DDJ-SR2 and larger than the DDJ-400, you’ll find plenty of room to try out mixing techniques on its spacious layout. REV DJ controllers are a series made for the DJ that wants the experience of using a turntable/mixer setup, with all the benefits of a controller. The layout is perfect for performing scratching techniques, familiarising yourself with a battle style configuration and even includes specialised features for open-format DJs.

The Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1 DJ controller offers beginners the perfect introduction to the world of battle-style mixing, without the expense of a set of turntables and mixer capable of scratch battle performance. For the first time in a Pioneer DJ controller at this level, the output of the master audio is mixed with the sound from the microphone if you have one plugged in. This means you don’t need any external equipment such as a soundcard or separate mixer if you want to add speech or vocals to your performance and route it through your computer. All sounds are sent to Serato DJ Lite so you can stream from there. Master of innovation, Pioneer have created this affordable battle-style DJ controller for use with Serato DJ Lite (can also be used with other DJ software). The new scratch-style design is perfect for honing your scratching skills as well as providing an ergonomic design for mixing. The DDJ-REV1 is designed to replicate the setup of the DJM-S mixer and the PLX turntables but with digital users in mind. VirtualDJ Pro Full is natively compatible with an impressive list of hardware from many manufacturers. And, with the full MIDI compatibility and the open plugin architecture, it can connect to virtually anything. Firstly, it’s good to see that Pioneer DJ has done this. You might have thought that as the company has its own software (Rekordbox) with its own supporting controller range, that we’d have seen the end of Serato controllers from Pioneer DJ, but not so. It looks like Pioneer DJ has been pragmatic, and that’s a good thing, as these units are traditionally very popular. It’s particularly effective with scratch sounds (some are supplied with Serato), and I demo it in the accompanying video if you want to hear how it sounds. If you think you want to play open format styles, parties, maybe a bit of performance DJing and scratching, the DDJ-REV1 would be a great entry-level unit for you. With it, you’ll develop the muscle memory for where to find everything on such set-ups, ready to one day move up to the DDJ-REV7, or even to real turntables and a mixer (or maybe Rane Twelves in lieu of the turntables). Lightweight and easily transportable, the DDJ-REV1 is perfect for mobile DJs. Protect the controller on the move with the Pioneer DJ DJC-REV1 Controller Bag. A Scratch DJ Layout, Ready For Battle In this Digital DJ Tips exclusive, our tutor DJ Jazzy Jeff puts the brand-new DDJ-REV1 through its paces. Who says you need expensive kit to DJ like a pro? The limited-edition DDJ-REV1-N is now on sale in selected regions (only available at specific retail stores in Asia Pacific and the Americas).

But, if you don't find what you need here, keep in mind that VirtualDJ Pro Full is compatible with many other controllers, mixers, etc. on the market. You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. As is the case with most software nowadays, Serato will work with your own music files, but can also work with streaming services so you can play from TIDAL, Beatport Streaming, Beatsource Streaming and SoundCloud Go+, too. This being a “battle” emulation, the mixer is more than just a mixer, of course – it’s also where you’ll find the effect and performance pads, which we’ll look at next. However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers.Streaming is easy with the DDJREV1, and vocals or speech can be added with a connected microphone, a first for an entry-level DJ Controller. The audio goes straight to your laptop via Serato DJ Lite and into the stream, meaning there is no need for an external soundcard or mixer. Serato DJ Lite Integration The DDJ-REV1 is an entry-level device, so it’s all plastic, but the build quality is fine – many pro DJs are happy to use these types of controllers as portable, secondary units, including our own tutor Jazzy Jeff ( see his demo mix on this very device here). The built-in audio interface streams the audio directly to your laptop, meaning it can be heard directly on your stream. Serato DJ Lite Integration And Compatibility With Serato DJ Pro

Next, you notice that the mixer section is like a shrunken battle mixer – it has the same clean, simple lower third (for uncluttered access to the crossfader), then the performance pads above that, then the EQ controls laid out in the Pioneer DJ DJM-S7/S9 format. Unfortunately, the REV1 can only accept headphones with the smaller 1/8th inch TRRS port. We would have much-preferred Pioneer DJ to have equipped the REV1 with the larger 1/4inch port as well as we just don’t believe all beginner DJ’s use lower quality headphones. In Conclusion Whether you’re livestreaming alongside an MC or hosting your own set, the inclusion of mixed microphone audio makes live-streaming an absolute breeze. For the first time at this price range, Pioneer allows you to blend the master audio output with the sound of a microphone. This eliminates the need for external soundcards/mixers – great for DJs on the go. You can stream directly from within Serato DJ Lite, providing a fully-fledged live streaming experience for your fans. Class-compliant design - get mixing straight out of the box Mobile DJs will probably want to get all-in-one controllers, easy to transport and install anywhere.Enjoy tactile control of various features and effects in the software by manipulating the buttons, knobs, faders, and jog wheels on the controller. For the first time on a controller of this size, the microphone audio is sent to the laptop. Allowing the microphone to be recorded and streamed without the need for additional hardware! Collection and delivery costs are included for the first 2 years in the event of an item becoming faulty For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs.
